These polls held over one month here at The Film Experience were a fascinating race (other than the crowning of Meryl Streep --who seemed to be the foregone conclusion early on...)

Initially we started with classic actresses (pre-70s) and moved on to a few modern rounds. Actresses who made their mark post 1995 were not included (too short as careers go to judge).

If the initial polls don't always match it's because there were a few misplacements ~ Maclaine, Dunaway, and Burstyn lost in initial shuffles, came on strong when competing in the finale. Also there were some strange journeys ~Fonda, Roberts, Andrews, and Hunter were all fierce in earlier rounds only to lose all their momentum as the finale arrived.
